1984: TechArt is founded by publishing industry authors and consultants Diane Burns and Sharyn Venit, and becomes one of the very first Macintosh-based graphic design and “desktop publishing” firms in the country. Located in San Francisco’s Noe Valley commercial district, the company launches its services using several 128K Macintoshes and--the company’s workhorse--an Apple Lisa running MacWorks, with a 5-megabyte hard drive! |
